Tablets To Give You Tan 2010

Nonstoperotik : Heard by us

The new drive is re-signed Nonstoperotik Black Francis, the return of that identity after Grand Duchy. Black Francis had left us with fabulous and great album Bluefinger, and the new single Six Legged Man is in this line with its punchy punk melody. Another title derives straight from Bluefinger, this is the bonus track 'Taint No Use (which is like a demo of the song Test Pilot Blues ). However it must be noted that Nonstoperotik is not the same barrel as Bluefinger, it is rather a return to hear Frank Black several years ago. Already it is the return of Eric Drew Feldman keyboards, the one who made the connection between the end of the Pixies (it is on Trompe Le Monde) and emancipation solo (Frank Black).

So a few days since its release, what about Nonstoperotik?

Already unlike previous (Petits Fours, Bluefinger, Fast Man Raider Man ...) the new disk missing unit (which is not necessarily bad), in fact it brings together a collection of songs rather different (like Devil's Worshop).
Nonstoperotik offers a song that was already known before but with a new orchestration, which is also not the first time that Black did it. These Dead Man's Curve (it appears on the disc Christmass) with music here can be influenced by the Two Pale Boys (Andy Diagram and Keith Molina) who had worked on the disc FrankBlackFrancis, this same influence s hear it as the title Rabbits. For new songs in collaboration with Eric Drew Feldman's most influential recalling the good old days are clearly Oh My Tidy Sum and Star Cinema. We must also remember that Eric Drew Feldman had also joined (second period) Frank Black and The Catholics and found that good mood rock n 'roll that is quite addictive with a few piano keys with titles Wheels (a cover of Flying Burrito Brothers) and Corrina, and it is really fun. In the same vein but rather a taste of blues songs of Frank Black, who stand there Lake Of Sin and When I Go Down On You . The biggest surprise comes from the title Nonstoperotik (which incidentally is the title of the album) because it is a trippy ballad, or even limits a trifle for a slow dance, a nice curiosity elsewhere. And it comes as controversy: the disc contains another curiosity that song is a rather insignificant. It Wild His title is the least interesting of the disc, it is not inconceivable that it has no place on the album but after as single face or b an as a bonus track. A report that contains 11 tracks Nonstoperotik but another version contains titles and more. On the menu of these bonus tracks so there 'Taint No Use (already mentioned above), Rocket USA (guitar very upset) and The Grindsman (without guitar).

Finally you can have the impression that Nonstoperotik is a collection of new songs with perhaps maybe a few other outlets in a bottom drawer, however, this impression tote also gives a greater variety of atmospheres. And it seems that Black Francis back in the direction of Frank Black, if indeed it means anything. Still, the guy still continues to write and compose, and it makes us happy to hear new songs with a new album almost every year.
Fingers crossed for new gigs in France ...
